Most of the residents displaced by an Aug. 27 apartment fire in Austin have moved back into their homes, according to the owner of the building.
Trevor Brovold, owner of the apartments at 805 Fourth St. NW, said residents have moved back in the nine-unit building about two weeks ago, except for one unit. According to the Austin Fire Department, an electrical device likely caused the blaze and heavy damage to one unit. Brovold said it may have been an extension cord.
The remaining units were spared damage, but the building had to be inspected before residents could move back in. Brovold said workers are gutting the damaged unit, and he hopes repairs will be completed in a timely fashion.
