Downtown Austin will celebrate the season this weekend.
A Fall Fest planned by Vision 2020’s Destination Downtown committee will be held starting at noon Saturday in downtown Austin. Participants can decorate styrofoam, take-home pumpkins at the Old Bank Building at 301 N Main from noon to 4 p.m. Also at the Bank Building, KSMQ will host an Autumn Art Fest from 2 to 5 p.m. Clifford the Big Red Dog will attend.
There will be a children’s costume contest at 2 p.m. at the Plaza. Children can visit the downtown businesses and do some trick-or-treating, as well.
The Hormel Foods plant is sponsoring the event, and all the activities are free.
Around the corner, the Paramount Theatre is hosting a March of Dimes fundraiser with a costume contest and raffle from 3 to 6 p.m., when it will also air the movie “Beetlejuice.” Tickets are $2 or $1 for those 12 and younger.
