An Austin man suspected of passing two counterfeit bills at a local bank on Dec. 27, 2012, received a stayed sentence last week.

Oyesanya then went to another area of the bank, returned to the teller and said he withdrew too much money. Oyesanya allegedly tried to deposit two $100 bills and five $20 bills; however, the currency counter detected the $100 bills were counterfeit. The complaint adds Oyesanya then left the building, went to a white van and returned to the building, where police later arrested him.

Oyesanya denied passing counterfeits and said he did not know who gave him a ride to the bank, the complaint adds.
