The Austin High School Band program will honor Korean War veterans during its upcoming concert at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4.

“Inchon,” memorializing the Korean War and the September of 1950 U.S. invasion at Inchon in particular, will be the signature piece for the AHS band concert.

The inspiration behind the piece is to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Korean armistice and to celebrate Veteran’s Day, according to Band Director Brad Mariska.

AHS is inviting all veterans to attend the concert, and Mariska will take a moment before “Inchon” is performed to recognize Korean War vets for their service.

In addition, the high school’s wind ensemble, concert choir, treble choir, La Fiera string ensemble and symphony orchestra will perform.

Tickets are $5 for students and seniors, and $7 for adults at both concerts.
