Mower County veterans organizations are raising funds for a new shuttle that will transport patients to the VA Hospital in the Minneapolis.

According to Mower County Veterans Services Director Wayne Madson, The local Disabled American Veterans chapter has pledged $6,000, and the Mower County Veterans Council has pledged $4,000.

The current van can transport a maximum of eight passengers.

Veterans organizations aim to raise enough funds for a larger shuttle with a center aisle that could transport up to 15 passengers.
