Margaret L. Wiggins, 93, of Austin, Minn., died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at the Adams Health Care Center, Adams, Minn.

Margaret was born on March 18, 1920, in Mercedes, Texas, to William and Lenora (Neville) Ward. During World War II, she served in the Women’s Air Corps. On Aug. 3, 1949, she married Van B. Wiggins in McCook, Neb. Margaret earned her associate degree in art from Austin Community College. She sang in Sweet Adeline’s and was a member of the Austin Art group where she served as secretary and was a contributing artist. In her spare time, Margaret volunteered at the Mower County Senior Center, as an elementary school assistant, and at the hospital auxiliary. She also delivered for Meals on Wheels in Austin. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Church Women’s circle at the church.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Van B. Wiggins.

Margaret is survived by her children: Cathy (Reggie) Power, of Rocheport, Mo.; Cecilia (Don) Oldenburg, of Wausau, Wis.; Weston (Sherry) Wiggins, of Columbia Heights, Minn.; Fredrick Wiggins, of St. Cloud, Minn.; grandchildren: Jason Oldenburg, Jessica Oldenburg, Elise Oldenburg, Tyler Wiggins, Noah Wiggins, and Malcolm Watts; great grandchildren: Molly Oldenburg, Laiana Oldenburg, Gunnar Moore and Piper Moore.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Michael Olmsted officiating. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. on Friday at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary and at the church on Saturday for one hour before the service. There will be no reviewal at the church.
