Pedestrian hit in Austin Saturday

A pedestrian went to the hospital in Austin on Saturday after he was reportedly hit by a vehicle.
The 44-year-old man was struck by a car driven by a 25-year-old man at about 3:50 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of Second Street Southwest, Austin. According to the police report, a witness heard someone yelp in the area and saw the man was hit by a Chrysler LHS.
Police were able to find the driver, who reportedly said he and the pedestrian acknowledged each other’s presence before he went through the intersection and heard a yelp, as well.
However, the report does not state the driver received a citation.
Gold Cross Ambulance took the victim to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin; he reportedly had scrapes on his leg.
