Wolf

He was born May 26, 1920 in Meyer, Iowa, to Regina (Hemann) and Edward Wolf. He graduated from vocational technical training in mechanics and worked at Allis Chalmers in Charles City, Iowa. He moved to Baltimore, Md., where he worked in aircraft production, leading to a lifetime interest in aviation. He served in the United States Navy during World War II where he was a Seaman First Class and was stationed in San Diego, Calif., where he worked in aircraft maintenance. He married Louise Theobald of Stacyville, Iowa, on June 21, 1945.

The couple moved to Austin in 194,7 when Raymond became employed at Hormel Foods. They both enjoyed country living on an 80-acre farm starting in 1951. Raymond enjoyed farming and having a large garden every year, and he readily shared the bountiful produce with friends and family. He enjoyed playing cards, and the large farmhouse often hosted the Card Club. He enjoyed hiking in the Arizona mountains during winter vacations and closely following the Minnesota Vikings. After retirement, the couple spent winters in Mesa and Tucson, Arizona and enjoyed the desert and points of interest that the state had to offer.
