A 29-year-old Austin man was shot by a pellet gun Sunday night while walking into the Pilot truck stop just off of Interstate 90.
According to the police report, the victim and his brother were walking into the store at 1509 10th Place NE just before 8 p.m. when they heard several popping sounds, and the victim had thought he stepped on something. Inside the store, the victim had discovered he was bleeding from the right calf. Gold Cross Ambulance took the victim to the hospital, and officers later found a .177-caliber pellet in the man’s shoe, the report added.
