The Austin City Council will likely talk assessment rates at its upcoming meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday inside City Council Chambers.

Public Works Director Steven Lang proposed raising residential rates by $1.50 per linear foot earlier this month — increasing 4-inch and 6-inch sidewalk block per square foot costs by 40 cents as well. Commercial reconstruction rates will likely increase by $2.25 per linear foot as well.

The council will also discuss employee contracts for the city’s street and sewer maintenance departments.
