Packer girls fall to No. 8 Huskies

The Austin girls basketball team couldn’t keep up with Owatonna (11-0 overall, 5-0 Big Nine), which si ranked No. 8 in Class ‘AAAA,’ as the Packers lost 63-45 on the road Friday.
The Packers (3-6 overall, 1-4 Big Nine) were within 27-20 late in the first half, but the Huskies used a quick 7-0 run to take a 14-point lead to the break. The Packers, who have now lost five straight, went 3-for-15 on free throws in the second half.
“I thought we made progress as a team tonight,” Austin head coach Todd Johnson said. “With all their trapping and pressing, I thought it would be tough on us and it was. They’re a tough team.”
