An Austin man accused of sexually molesting a girl in Mower County from the time she was 7 to 12 years old received his sentence on Thursday in Mower County Court.

Gary Russell Hegna, 46, of Austin, was sentenced to 15 years’ supervised probation for third-degree criminal sexual conduct. A charge for first-degree criminal sexual conduct was previously dismissed.

According to the court complaint, Hegna forced the girl to have sex, wear costumes and watch pornographic movies. A detective executed a search warrant at Hegna’s house where he found pornographic movies involving young girls and curtains covering all the windows inside the house and in a camper, the complaint added.

Hegna must pay $2,960 in restitution and must register as a predatory offender, as well.
