Snow, gusts to touch Austin area Monday night

The National Weather Service in La Crosse, Wis., has issued a winter weather advisory for much of southern Minnesota, northeastern Iowa and southwestern Wisconsin.
The advisory is effective from 9 p.m. Monday to 3 p.m. Tuesday, as the NWS forecasts 1 to 3 inches of snow for the Austin area Monday night, and 2 to 5 inches within the advisory area. The advisory says there could be areas of blowing and drifting snow. Winds in the area also could gust up to 28 mph Monday night.
Austin could be in for another inch of snow on Tuesday, along with more gusty conditions that could make travel slippery. Visibility could be limited. The NWS also forecasts gusts as strong as 39 mph on Wednesday.
