The Hayfield girls basketball team used a strong second half burst to beat La Crescent (7-5 overall, 4-3 HVL) 53-39 on the road Monday.

The Vikings (11-2 overall, 6-1 HVL) opened the second half on an 8-0 run to go up 30-22 and the Lancers never got back in the game. Dani Wagner led Hayfield with 26 points.

“Dani took over in the second half and played well for us,” Hayfield head coach Fred Kindschy said.
