Hormel, Institute recognizes science fair winners

More than 60 students in third- through sixth-grade qualified for the Regional Science Fair in Mankato.

Hormel Foods Research and Development recognized the following students: Chloe Jenkins & Ruby Kvam, Jacob Herrick, Aiden O’Harra, Cassidy Davidson, Katie Shin, Katherine Schramek, Elana Gillen and Renata Vaughn, Chris Sanchez Rivas and Keaton Goetz.

The Hormel Institute also recognized Claire Raymond, Riley Haugen, Laura Stahl, and Cassidy Davidson.

 Rotary students of the month

Victoria Grev and Mark Mizrachi were named the Austin Rotary students of the month for December.

Grev is involved in varsity soccer and basketball, Austin Symphony Orchestra, Concert Choir, Student Council, DECA, Youth Leadership and National Honor Society. She hopes to attend the University of Minnesota after high school.

Mizrachi participates in cross country, swimming, track, DECA and knowledge bowl.

He plans to pursue biochemistry at the College of Biological Sciences at the University of Minnesota and pursue a career in research or medicine.
