Members of the AHS Jazz Bands traveled to the 41st Annual Head of the Lakes Jazz Festival on the campus of the University of Minnesota-Duluth March 7 and 8.

The students took part in a day-long program of clinics and concerts, including a performance by world-renowned saxophonist Bob Sheppard. The students in both AHS Jazz One and AHS Packer Jazz played a variety of music, including swing charts, ballads, rock, and latin.

Jazz One debuted a new piece, the Chase classic rock tune “Get it On,” which featured the trumpet section and drummer Will Bjorndal.

Jazz One is now preparing for one of the nation’s largest jazz contests, the Eau Claire Jazz Festival, on April 5.
