ANNIE HOLTZ

Academic achievements:
Throughout high school, I have worked hard to complete a rigorous course load while maintaining a high GPA. As a junior, I began taking postsecondary classes at Riverland Community College. This opportunity has allowed me to obtain many college credits while still attending high school. I am also a member of the National Honor Society.AnnieHoltz

Activities:
Being at Pacelli has allowed me to be a part of many different activities simultaneously. I am the President of the Student Council and Chief Editor of the Talisman. I also participate in varsity volleyball,  basketball, and track and field. I am a basketball and track and field captain. I am also very active in choir. At Pacelli, I am a member of the Concert Choir, Pacelli Singers, Lyrix, and Pacelli Women’s Quartet. I am also involved with the drama department at Pacelli. I have acted in shows at Pacelli since seventh grade. I also played flute in Austin High School’s Wind Ensemble for three years until scheduling conflicts arose this past semester. I also play guitar in my free time. I am an active member of the Catholic Church. I volunteer as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, and Cantor on the weekends and during school mass. I also volunteer as a tutor for students at the Pacelli Elementary School.

Potential college plans/plans for the future:
I plan on attending either St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., or Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. I plan on studying science in college with a focus on medicine. I am currently interested in the field of Orthopedics, but who knows? I have been contacted about playing basketball next year, but I have not made a decision.

A person who has had a positive impact in your academic or school life:
One group of people who has made a positive impact on my school life is my basketball team. This season Lyle/Pacelli went 24-1, which is the best girls basketball record in the history of Lyle Pacelli. This shows an insurmountable improvement from my middle school years when LP struggled to win a single game all season. This turn around would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of my teammates and coaches. Everyday, my teammates and coaches pushed me to be a better player and a better teammate. All of us understood the magnitude of what we were trying to achieve and never backed down. Though this season did not end as we intended, it has been a blessing to be a part of the Lyle/Pacelli family.
