MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis police say they are close to making an arrest in the slaying of a woman who often offered help to those in need.
Seventy-six-year-old Lois Swenson was killed in her Minneapolis home in June of 2012. Police Lt. Richard Zimmerman tells WCCO-TV they just need a little more information to close the case. Zimmerman says the person who killed Swenson was someone she was helping. He says Swenson let him live in her house and gave him money, but when she told him to move out, he became angry.
Zimmerman says police are hoping a person close to the suspect will come forward.
Crime Stoppers is partnering with police to offer a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
