Mower County officials say Quality Case Management, Inc., has less than a week to send in necessary paperwork to become a third adult mental health case management service provider.

Health and Human Services Director Julie Stevermer told the Mower County Board of Commissioners during its Tuesday meeting that Quality Case Management has to submit credentials information on some of its staff, as well as give evidence of its compliance review process.

The county cut case management providers for Mower County residents who get mental health services from six to two earlier this year after a review process that started last November, and the decision went into effect March 1. The decision caused immediate concern among patients, however, who protested the county’s actions.

The board approved a third provider at the end of February, and gave Quality Case Management until March 31 to comply with county recommendations and regulations. Stevermer said the county has thus far worked well with Quality Case Management during the process.
