Andrea Leigh Hoppin, 38, died on April 25, 2014, at Shemp Mayo hospital in Lacrosse, Wis., of meningitis. Andrea was born on August 2, 1975. She attended college in Chicago, Ill. Even though she struggled at times doing what was right, she loved her savior the Lord Jesus Christ, and now she is safe in his loving arms. Her heart and joy was her daughter Alex. She loved to take her to the park for cook outs, and they would wrestle, laugh and have fun. Andrea had a heart of gold. She was willing to take her friends anywhere on the drop of a hat, she liked to feed the neighbor kids and parents, and she gave anything she could.
Andrea is preceded in death by her baby sister Angela Ann Hoppin, grandfather Arnold Hall, grandmother Esther Dahlback, and grandparents George and Myrtle Hoppin.
She is survived by her loving 8-year-old daughter, Alexandria Paige Hoppin, mother and father Kathy and Jerry Dahlback, of West Salem, Wis., and William and Ann Hoppin of Hayward, Wis. Brothers and sisters Adam and Jeannie Hoppin, Eyota Minn., Holly Hannah Dahlback, Onalaska, Wis., Lisa and Anthonell Williams, Minneapolis, Minn., Jeremy and Leah Dahlback, Prior Lake Minn., and step brothers and sisters, Hayward, Wis. Neices and nephews Lola and Max Dahlback, Prior Lake, Minn., Brendan, Carly, Jo, Maddy, Eyota, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Andrea’s celebration of life ceremony will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at the Connect Church, 3340 S. Kinney Coulee Rd, Onalaska, Wis., 54650. Rev. Jerry Hatlevig is officiating. Coulee Region Cremation Group is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials.
