Clifford ‘Cliff’ Irvin Hensrud, 92

Clifford “Cliff” Irvin Hensrud, 92, of rural Blooming Prairie, Minn., died Saturday afternoon, April 12, 2014, at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna, Minn. He was born Sept. 6, 1921, in Westfield Township, Dodge County, Minnesota, the son of John and Ida (Olstad) Hensrud. He attended country school in Westfield Township and after completing his education worked as a hired man for Ed Soufal and later as a butcher for Betlach’s Grocery Store. On July 25, 1948, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Marion Ingvaldson in Geneva, Minn. The couple purchased a farm in Newry Township, Freeborn County, Minn., where they lived and farmed their entire marriage. Marion died on Feb. 22, 2007. Cliff continued to live on the family farm and enjoyed dancing, horses, fishing and hunting. He was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church and was always involved in their annual lutefisk supper. He also attended other area lutefisk dinners whenever possible.

He is survived by three sons, Dwayne (Judith) Hensrud of Medford, Minn.; Robert C. (Marge) Hensrud of Kenyon, Minn.; and Dale (Janet Wutschke) Hensrud of Blooming Prairie; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Marion (Lawrence) Ingvaldson of Ellendale, Minn.; brothers and sisters-in-laws, LeRoy (Linda) Ingvaldson of Ellendale; Jerry (Karen) Ingvaldson of Dodge Center, Minn.; and Ernie (Jean) Ingvaldson of Mesa, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Marion Hensrud of Blooming Prairie; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marion; a son in infancy, Darrell; two brothers, Palmer and Irvin and a sister-in-law, Marjorie Hensrud.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m.., Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie with Rev. Heidi Heimgartner and Rev. Charlie Leonard, officiating. Interment will follow the service in Westfield Cemetery, rural Blooming Prairie. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, April 14, at the Worlein-Blooming Prairie Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
