The Austin boys golf team finished second at a home triangular in Austin Country Club Wednesday.
The Packers tallied a team score of 362. Rochester Century won it with a 319 and Rochester John Marshall shot a 374.
Austin had its top three golfers shoot under a 90, but head coach Matt Raso would like to see his team play a little better.
“There’s still some room for improvement,” Raso said. “For our home course, I was thinking a little bit lower for our top three guys. We’re seeing some improvement and we’re looking for that fourth score. We’re close.”
James Snee shot an 84 to lead Austin and Tony Baudler shot an 88.
Raso, who is in his first year at the helm, said he’s starting to get to used to being a head coach and he wants to see the program improve.
“The nice thing is I’ve got a bunch of young kids and there’s a base for me to work with,” Raso said.
Austin scores: James Snee, 84; Tony Baudler, 88; Ethan Morey, 88; Matt Newmann, 102; Dallas Schoden, 109; Ryan Kempen, 113
