Lyle-Pacelli softball team swept by Mabel-Canton

The Lyle-Pacelli softball team lost both games of a doubleheader by scores of 13-0 and 20-8 to Mabel-Canton in Todd Park Friday.

LP (0-4 overall, 0-4 SEC)trailed 8-0 in the first inning of the first game as it struggled early on and MC’s Sara Lind pitched a no-hitter.

“We just weren’t ready to play [in game one]. Couldn’t get the ball to find a hole,” LP head coach Jeff Yocom said.

LP has had just two outside practices so far, so Yocom is hoping that the team can get in some more experience as the season rolls along.

“We are very young and the girls are finding out you cant  take a pitch off,” Yocom said. “You have to be ready every pitch and if its hit to you, know where your going with the ball.”
