Nathan Joseph Godbout, 28, of Brownsdale, died unexpectedly of natural causes on Friday, May 9, 2014, at his home.

He was born Nov. 22, 1985, in Cloquet, Minn., to Mark and Evonne (McMartin) Godbout. Following his 2004 graduation from Hayfield High School, Nathan attended Riverland Community College for two years, and then went to work as a machinist for Bowman Tool Manufacturing in Rochester. An avid reader, Nathan also enjoyed building models, gaming, hunting and fishing, cars, and motorcycles.

Survivors include his parents Mark and Evonne Godbout of Brownsdale; his brother Dale (Michelle) Godbout, also of Brownsdale; his sister Tiffany Ann (Robert) Gerhart of Maple Grove, Minn.; and brother Aaron Godbout of Denver, Colo.; six nieces, Heather, Lisa, Breanna, Taylor, Alyx, and Lauren; aunts and uncles; ‘Grandpa’ Robert Thompson of Brownsdale; and many friends in Brownsdale and the surrounding area. Nathan was preceded in death by his grandparents and his uncle, Jim McMartin.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin, with the Rev. Jeff Sage officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Worlein Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brownsdale, at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Brownsdale Fire Department. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
