The ninth annual Mower County Breakfast on the Farm is ready to feed the masses from 7 to 11:30 a.m. on June 28 at the Hansen Farm, located at 15588 540th Ave. in Austin.
Organizers hope to be just as successful as last year’s event, which attracted more than 800 people.
“It’s our way of trying to communicate agriculture,” said Virginia Bissen, secretary and treasurer of the Mower County Farm Bureau.
Other activities include farm tours, petting zoo, a scavenger hunt, and meeting Princess Kay of the Milky Way.
“It’s a good family event,” Bissen said.
The meal consists of pancakes, sausage, milk, juice and coffee. The cost is $3 per person, or a family rate of $12. Children ages six and under are free.
Free parking will be available at the farm, or attendees are welcome to catch a bus from Hy-Vee at 8 a.m.
Breakfast on the Farm is held every year and is hosted by the Mower County Farm Bureau.
