Blue Sox blanked by Owatonna Aces

The Austin Blue Sox have now lost two games this season and both of them have been to the Owatonna Aces.
The Blue Sox (4-2 overall) fell to Owatonna 10-0 in seven innings to the Aces in Marcusen Park Tuesday.
“We were very flat tonight and that’s not what I expected from us tonight,” Blue Sox manager Josh Kunze said. “I expected us to win this ball game and we didn’t.”
The Blue Sox mustered just four hits off of Owatonna lefty Jordan Howe. Austin had two runners on in the second and third innings, but that was the biggest threats it would put up.
“[Their pitcher] was doing good,” Kunze said. “I don’t want to take anything away from him, but we had some poor at bats. It was probably a product of him doing his job well. He had nice velocity on his fast ball and he mixed in the other pitchers in well enough.”
Blue Sox pitcher Lukas Anderson didn’t allow an earned run in the first four innings, but he ran into the trouble in the fifth inning when he walked a couple of batters and allowed a one-out grand slam to Erick Hoberg.
“He was getting behind in counts and he was able to get past that a few times,” Kunze said of Anderson. “Eventually if you keep rolling that dice and pitching from behind, eventually you get bit. It’s nothing to be ashamed of, that guy’s a good hitter.”
The grand slam put Owatonna up 5-0 and the Aces put the game away with three runs in the top of the seventh.
