Lorraine R. Kramer, 76, of Adams, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, June 21, 2014.

Lorraine Rose Retterath was born Dec. 16, 1937, on the family farm in rural McIntire, Iowa, to Lawrence and Marie (Wettstein) Retterath. The family moved to rural Adams three years later. One of eleven children, she attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Adams and graduated from Adams High School in 1955. She married Kenneth Kramer on June 19, 1956, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams.

A lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, she was very active for many years as a volunteer. Faith was always a focal point in her life. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, always willing to pitch in and help whenever needed. With a tireless work ethic, she worked seasonally at Libby’s, while keeping up with the gardening, canning, crocheting and baking.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Kramer, Adams, Minn.; daughter, Cheryl (Ken) Ham, Gallatin, Tenn.; son, Randy (Wendy) Kramer, Austin, Minn.; three grandchildren, Jinger (Ray) Rainwater, Bethpage, Tenn., and Jacob and Brady Kramer, Austin, Minn.; two great-grandchildren; siblings, John Retterath, Adams, Minn., Ann (Ken) Hemann, St. Ansgar, Iowa, Louise (Ken) Goergen, Adams, Minn., Helen (Lynn) Webber, Adams, Minn., Theresa (Wally) Watson, Milwaukee, Wis., Mary (Wayne) Rogne, Austin, Minn., Elizabeth (Mike) Schik, Plymouth, Minn.; brother-in-law, Jim Blake, Riceville, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Betty Retterath, Adams, Minn., and Jeanette Retterath, Adams, Minn.

She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings Genevieve Blake, Riceville, Iowa, Joseph Retterath, Adams, Minn., and Thomas Retterath, Adams, Minn.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Adams, with Father Swaminatha Pothireddy officiating. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Rosary prayer service will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at the Adams Funeral Home, followed by visitation from 4:30 to 7 p.m., and one hour before the service at the church.
