The Austin Police Department arrested three people Friday in conjunction with spray paint vandalism that took place between June 11 and 12.

According to Austin Police Captain Dave McKichan, one 21-year-old and two 17-year-olds were arrested for the vandalism that happened to at least 19 vehicles parked from Fourth Street to 12th Street Northwest and from First Avenue to Fourth Avenue Northwest. They are being held in the Mower County Jail and a juvenile detention center. Charges are expected within a few days.

McKichan said the police department received several tips from members of the community, which led to discovering the vandals. The police department recovered the spray-paint items that were used in the vandalism, and with the evidence they have, they are confident they have the people who are responsible.
