Robert Lawrence Graves, 83, of Moore, passed away June 10, 2014.
He was born in Austin, Minn., on Nov. 23, 1930, to Robert B. and Melba Irene (Roche) Graves. After he retired from 20 years of service in the Air Force as a radio communications tech and instructor, Robert was later employed in, then retired from, a long career in civil service at Tinker Air Force Base. He liked photography and traveled to many countries in Europe. Robert was a devout Catholic and a long-time member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Norman, Okla. He liked eating at the Red Lobster in Norman, and ate there every day for 17 years, always ordering salmon with a double order of broccoli. He had a deep, committed love for his family.
Robert is survived by three sons, Kurt Graves and wife Rose, Lake Nebagamon, Wis., Harold Graves and wife Carole, Dallas, Texas, and Richard Graves and wife Charise, Albuquerque, N.M.; two daughters Barbara Morgan, Norman, Okla., and Monica Mansur and husband Mike, Shawnee, Okla.; seven grandchildren, Chasity Morgan, John Graves, Mark Graves, Kelli Graves, Dylan Graves, Brandon Mansur and Tyler Mansur; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Ferguson and husband Francis, Austin, Minn.; brother, Daryl Graves and wife Linda, Minneapolis, Minn.; and ex-wife Shirley Graham, Moore, Okla.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Irma Graves; parents, Robert and Melba; and brother Roger Graves.
Visitation will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, June 12, 2014, at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 3939 W. Tecumseh Rd., Norman, Okla., with a funeral Mass to follow at 10 a.m. Friday, June 13. Burial will be at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, OKC. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore.
