Woodson Kindergarten Center was undamaged after a roofing oil tanker caught fire at about 5:45 p.m. Sunday.
Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger said Austin police and firefighters responded to the fire and spent about an hour on-scene.
According to a police report, a hose on the tanker was damaged, which caused a chemical reaction and led to the fire. Though the tanker was parked parallel to the school, district officials and emergency personnel didn’t find any damage to Woodson.
Austin Public Schools is renovating Woodson’s roof this summer.
