It is crucial that children possess fundamental swimming skills. We have full scholarship swim lesson spots available this summer.

These full scholarship swim lessons are available at no cost to youth for one session of summer swim lessons. The only qualification is that the youth receives free or reduced lunch at school.

There are infant and preschool swim lessons spots available on full scholarship as well for younger siblings of families that are on free or reduced lunch. Participants do not need to be a Y member and do not need previous swimming lesson experience.

Youth need to register at least one day before the class starts. So sign up at the Y Front Desk or mail to the YMCA to Cindy Bowe, 704 1st Dr. NW, Austin, MN 55912.

Mark your calendar — the 5 mile Hog Jog is July 5, race starts at 8 a.m., registration fee is $25 after June 18 at 7:30 a.m. If you have any questions contact Kristi at 433-1804. The cost is $30. There will be Race Day registration at East Side Lake from 6:45-7:30 a.m.

Summer hours for the Y: Monday-Friday 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and closed on Sundays.
