Flea market gets under way Friday
The Three Rivers Days antiques-flea market is back for the 11th time.
From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, vendors will sell furniture, garden art, and everything in between at the Mower County Fairgrounds.
“[There’s] everything possible you can think to buy,” said organizer and assistant Tessa Smith.
Smith thinks that anyone would enjoy the market, especially “anybody who is a collector or into homemade crafts.”
Along with the J&D Estate Sale and MCHS Rummage Sale, there will be at least 40 local and out-of-town vendors from Rochester, Osage, and Charles City selling various goods as well.
Smith describes the products as being “brand new, newly made, or 50 years old if not later.” Some highlights of items that will be sold include wigs, pottery, glasswork, watches, and antique furniture. Other brand name vendors like Tastefully Simple and Tupperware will be there as well.
Auctioneering and Appraisals of Austin is heading and sponsoring the event this year instead of the fairgrounds, who have been in charge previous years. Another change is that vendors will have to pay $1 dollar extra per square foot this year to rent space. Vendors can still register today, and there may still be space available the day of.
“It’s a really fun event,” said Smith.
Admission and parking are free. The event is open to the public and will go on rain or shine. For more information, call Tessa at 507-219-9826.
