Austin police are looking for a man who fled during a traffic stop early Sunday morning.

Police Chief Brian Krueger said officers pulled over a car that had no taillights near 13th Street and Fourth Avenue Northwest a little after 2:30 a.m. Sunday. The man sped away from the scene shortly after police got out of their car, however. The suspect stopped the car at a nearby intersection and fled the scene on foot.

Police picked up the suspect’s baseball cap in a nearby yard. Krueger said the department may send the cap to the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for DNA testing.
