Local children will have the opportunity to practice their theater skills next week.
The Matchbox Children’s Theatre Camp will run from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday at Christ Episcopal Church.
“We think it’s a great opportunity for kids to get experience with theater,” said director Angela Donovan.
The camp will cover a variety of theater topics.
“Besides acting, we will discuss everything from auditioning and working on characterization to set design, costuming, and makeup,” Donovan said.
All students who attend will also be guaranteed a role in the summer play, “The Princess With No Name.”
“They always seem to have fun with it,” Donovan said.
15 children are signed up to attend so far, but applications will be accepted until Monday. Children ages 8 to 18 are welcome to attend. The cost is $75 per student, and partial scholarships are also available.
