Local celebrities kiss animals for cause
The Mower County 4-H Ambassadors organized several fundraisers over the course of the Mower County Fair to raise money for Feds Feed Families, an organization that assists rural food shelves.
Money was raised by having local celebrities kiss livestock at the fair.
On Thursday, KAUS show host Clint Narramore kissed a cow and raised $71.03. The next day, James Wilcox and Laura Lee kissed a llama and a goat and raised $124.59.
On Saturday, the last day of fundraising, Dan Sparks and the DFL competed with Dennis Schminke and the GOP to see which party could raise more money for charity. Both sides worked together to raise $187.40. State Senator Sparks, however, lost and had to kiss a pig.
According to the Feds Feed Families estimate of meals per dollar, the $383.03 raised would amount to about 3064 meals.
