Mower County should have a new temporary head of its largest department come Tuesday.
After the board accepted the resignation of Mower County Health and Human Services Director Julie Stevermer last week, the county board is set to appoint an interim replacement during Tuesday’s county board meeting, which starts at 1 p.m. in the basement of the Government Center.
Its likely that Community Health Director Lisa Kocer will be the interim replacement after Stevermer steps down Aug. 15, according to county officials. However, the county may discuss moving other employees into temporary roles and may bring in temporary help.
Health and human services has about 90 employees.
The board is also set to appoint County Assessor Joy Kanne to a full four-year term, and the board will discuss a contract with the Welcome Center for interpreting services.
