Stephanie Bednar, of Austin, Minnesota, and Christopher Garbisch, of Brownsdale, Minnesota, have announced their engagement.

Stephanie, the daughter of Michael and Dennis Bednar, of Austin, graduated from Pacelli High School in 2002 and Riverland Community College in 2004 with a degree in law enforcement. She then graduated from Minnesota State University-Mankato in 2008 with a degree in Spanish and then again in 2011 and 2014 with MA degrees in English and teaching, respectively.

She is currently employed by the Wells Police Department and Neveln Elementary.

Christopher, the son of Sharon and Steve Garbisch, of Brownsdale, graduated from Hayfield High School in 2001 and graduated with a degree in law enforcement from Riverland Community College in 2004.

He is currently employed by the Austin Police Department.

Stephanie’s grandparents are the late Charles “Baldy” and Margaret Hansen and late Don and Betty Bednar. Christopher’s grandparents are Bonnie Nelson of Brownsdale and the late Ernest “Swede” Nelson and the late Helen and Gilbert Garbisch.

The couple will be married on Oct. 4, 2014, at the Rochester Art Center in Rochester, Minnesota. They will reside in Austin following the wedding.
