Jim Percival, 77, of Austin, Minnesota, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems Austin.
Donald James Percival was born Sept. 12, 1936, at Spring Valley, Minnesota, the son of Donald and Oney (Ruud) Percival. He graduated from the Spring Valley High School and served in the US Air Force. Jim was married to Colleen Hinkson on Dec. 6, 1958, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin.
Jim was a plumber and spent much of his career working for the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, the Moose Club and the American Legion Post No. 91. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping and was an avid reader.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Jo Percival.
Jim is survived by his wife, Colleen Percival, Austin, Minnesota; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Kim Percival, Rochester, Minnesota, Rick and Karen Percival, Westminster, Colorado. Grandchildren, Brett Percival, Elizabeth Percival and Jessica Percival; brothers and sister-in-law, John Percival, Austin, Minnesota, David and Mary Lou Percival, Maplewood, Minneosta; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Doug Braaten, Austin, Minnesota; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with the Rev. Gerry Giese officiating. Entombment will be at Oakwood Cemetery with Austin Post No. 91 American Legion in charge of military honors. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
