Rochester’s Irish Fest has announced it will be making a venue relocation in an effort to accommodate the festival’s expansion.
Previously held at the Peace Plaze of downtown Rochester, Irish Fest will move to the History Center of Olmsted County.
Irish Fest will go from 4 p.m. Aug. 29 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 31.
“We are excited about the move, which not only allows us to expand programming on the main storage through 10 p.m. Friday, but allow us to include Gaelic games to Rochester.” organizer Sinead Chick said. “Hurling and rugby are hugely relevant in our culture and we look forward to presenting these sports at this year’s fest.”
Activities include three major musical acts direct from Ireland as well as national and regional performers, world champion Irish dancing, children’s activities, native Irish dog breeds, Irish culture displays and workshops.
