Ross D. Noble, 82, of Austin, Minnesota, died Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, in the emergency room at Mayo Health Systems, Austin.

Ross David Noble was born May 19, 1932, at Austin, Minnesota, the son of Hannibal and Katherine (Rowland) Noble. He attended Austin Public Schools and served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955, during the Korean War. Ross married Karen Paulson on May 19, 1956, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church.

Ross was a cement mason for 34 years and a member of Bricklayers and Trowel Trades International Local 387 and Plasterers and Cement Masons Local 538. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Eagles and the Moose Clubs.

Ross enjoyed many outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing and gardening. He liked to play cards and enjoyed trips to the casino with friends. He was an avid sports fan and supporter of the Minnesota Gophers, Vikings and Twins. Ross enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hannibal and Katherine Noble; wife Karen; sisters, Virginia Tesch and Evelyn Deunow; brothers, Roger, Ronald and Robert Noble.

Ross is survived by his children, Lucille (Gary) Nelson, Austin, Minnesota, Michael (Elaine) Noble, Mantorville, Minnesota, Mark (Linda) Noble, Lansing, Minnesota, Laura Noble, Austin, Minnesota, LaNora Madden, Merscerburg, Pennsylvania, LeeAnne (Brian) Peterson, Apple Valley, Minnesota; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara (Gary) Underland, Medford, Minnesota, Janet (Joe) Bjork, Embarrass, Minnesota, Judy (Robert) Beck, Albert Lea, Minnesota; nieces and nephews.

Honorary bearers will be Kyle Madden, Kevin Madden, Katherine Peterson, Stephanie Noble, Scott Bustad and Dana Andree. Casket bearers will be Eric Noble, Joshua Noble, Angela Noble, Malcolm Peterson, Sara Ferguson and Andrea Noble.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 6, at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marilee Benson officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery with Austin Post No. 91 American Legion in charge of military rites. Visitation will be on Tuesday at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary from 5 to 8 p.m. and at the church for one hour before the service on Wednesday.
