Stepping out to the State Fair Thursday
Published 5:40 pm Saturday, August 23, 2014
Thursday is our Senior Day trip by motor coach to the Minnesota State Fair.
We will enjoy outdoor music, hundreds of food stands, Machinery Hill, the Woman’s Building of fine crafts, quilts, flowers, cooking classes, and so much more.
Not to miss is the dairy barn where we will enjoy ice cream sundaes while watching the newest dairy princess sitting in a chilly cube posing while being carved in butter.
There will be the daily parade, featuring many of our state’s local marching bands, plus a ride over the fairgrounds for a even greater view.
And of course, all the animals, 4-H exhibits, an even a chance to walk down the midway.
We call this the greatest show on earth or in Minnesota.
We depart at 7:30 a.m. from the Walmart parking lot and return around 6 p.m. We will be dropped off within a short walk of the front gate. We will provide water and a snack to begin the day. You don’t need to be a member to join us. Call 507-433-9391 or 507-438-3946. to sign up. This is another escorted tour sponsored by the Mower County Senior Center.
Next week I reveal where our Aug. 19 mystery trip took us, another new destination. And we found out, “What Paco was up to.”
