Author Peggy Keener will discuss her memoir, “Potato in a Rice Bowl,” at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, at the Village Co-Op in Austin.

Keener spent more than 20 years in Japan, where she became a TV personality and nationwide English lecturer. Her book covers the time she and her family spent in Japan in the 1960s.
