Bernice J. Krupicka, 81, of Austin, Minnesota, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at Sacred Heart Care Center.

Bernice was born Feb. 11, 1933, in Hayfield, Minnesota, to Fred and Bertha Kruger. She was one of five daughters who grew up on the family farm west of Hayfield. She went to a one room elementary school house, Pride of 76, and graduated high school in Hayfield in 1950.

On May 26, 1951, she married Leonard Krupicka in Hayfield. Leonard was home on leave before going to Korea. Bernice was a housewife for 63 years, taking care of their handicapped son, Tracy. He passed away in 1993.

Bernice was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. She was also an avid archer often competing against world champions. Through her many years of archery, she collected many trophies and gold medals. Bernice also enjoyed camping, fishing, yard work, casinos, and volunteering at the local A.R.C.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Leonard of Austin; sons, Steven (Robin) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Larry (Sandra) of Austin; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Marion (Stanley) Falch of Brownsdale, Minnesota, Lois Wendorf of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, Carol Emery of Northfield, Minnesota.

In addition to her son, Tracy; she is preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Phyllis Mohrbacher.
