CRWD receives award from the Izaak Walton League

The Cedar River Watershed District received an award from the Izaak Walton League Minnesota Division.
Gary Schwartz, Izaak Walton League Minnesota Division National Director, presented the Ray Haik Watershed District Award to the Cedar River Watershed District.
Justin Hanson accepted the award on behalf of the CRWD at the Austin Chapter’s Sept. 8 chapter meeting.
The CRWD was nominated for the award based on applying for and receiving grant funds to aid in river and stream improvements, successfully implementing flood control and wetland projects with local landowners, partnering with local groups to clean up the Cedar River and educating the public through presentations during Waterways Month in June.
