Domingo Flores, 71, of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, at Prairie Manor Care Center.
He was born July 28, 1943 in Salvatierra, Guanajuato, Mexico to Carmen and Luz Maria (Ramirez) Flores. Domingo moved to the United States in 1971. In the 1980s, he moved to Minnesota, settling later in Blooming Prairie. Domingo moved to Faribault in the late 1980s, where he worked in food packaging in Lakeville and at Jerome Foods in Faribault. In 2002, he returned to Blooming Prairie to help on the Sanchez family farm. Domingo was a member of St. Columbanus Catholic Church.
Survivors include his longtime companion, Maria ‘Mary’ Perez of Blooming Prairie, Maria’s children, Ruby Perez of Faribault and Rudy Perez of Blooming Prairie; Maria’s granddaughter, Maria ‘Sammy’ Perez of Faribault; four sisters; and one brother in Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, at St. Columbanus Catholic Church in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, with Father Steven Peterson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at a later date. Memorials in Domingo’s memory can be directed to the family.
