Helgeson: Register for The Arc Minnesota’s 2014 conference
Published 3:00 pm Saturday, September 13, 2014
This one-day gathering will give you, as self-advocates, family members, and service providers, the conceptual knowledge and practical skills to advocate for and help create services that meet your needs, desires, and dreams. Join The Arc Minnesota on Saturday, Nov. 15, and learn more on how you can take charge of your life and your services. The conference will be at the Shoreview Community Center, 4580 Victoria Street North, Shoreview, MN.
The keynote speaker will be Anne Roehl, a leader in Person-Centered Thinking and Person-Centered Planning at the University of Minnesota’s Institute on Community Integration. During the opening session, trainers in Person-Centered Thinking will lend you support while Anne leads a variety of discussions and exercises. We’ll talk about what Person-Centered Thinking means and prepare you for more detailed exercises in the afternoon breakout sessions.
The conference registration fee is $75 for individuals, $50 for self-advocates. Your event registration fee includes all conference workshops and presentations, lunch on Saturday, and refreshments. Tickets for the Saturday Night Awards Banquet are $50 and are not included in the conference registration fee. Register by Oct. 31.
