Bullying can happen at any school, but this month organizers are trying to help eradicate the issue.

October is PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Month. The message this year is “The end of bullying begins with you.” It’s a time when communities can unite nationwide to raise awareness of bullying prevention through events, activities, outreach and education.

Each Week in October Austin High school is embracing “Be Someone’s Hero” and is encouraging everyone to participate in Bully Prevention and Awareness activities.

PACER created the campaign in 2006 with a one-week event, which has now evolved into a month-long effort that encourages everyone to take an active role in the bullying prevention movement.

There is a lot members can do to get involved with the movement during the month. To see videos, stories and resources, visit www.pacer.org/bullying/nbpm.
