Council to discuss street projects, Vision 2020

The Austin City Council is set to discuss street reconstruction projects, Vision 2020 and more at its upcoming meeting on Monday.
The council will hold public hearings on assessments for various projects, from snow removal to grass and weed removal, for residents who used the city’s services over the past year. Council members will also discuss assessments for street reconstruction projects for Eighth Street Northwest from Oakland Avenue to Fourth Avenue, Eighth Street Southwest from Oakland Avenue to First Avenue, Eighth Avenue Northeast from the railroad to Eight Street, and Eighth Street Northeast from Eighth Avenue to 10th Avenue.
The council is also set to hear a Vision 2020 Bike/Walk Committee request for $1,500 for a bike repair station, as well as $1,200 in additional funding for more bike racks throughout the city.
