Myrtle Inez Anderson, 94, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home in Austin.

Myrtle was born Dec. 13, 1919, in Adams, Minnesota, to Henry and Andrea (Erickson) Anderson. For 12 years she attended school at Elkton, graduating in 1938. She was a retired employee of the Hormel Foods Corporation and a past member of Zumbro Lutheran Church in Rochester.

Myrtle enjoyed music, dancing, reading and baking, and spending time with her friends.

She is survived by her cousins: Allan (Della) Anderson, Valley City, North Dakota, Harley (Ruth) Anderson, Bismarck, North Dakota, Wes Anderson, Valley City, North Dakota, Steven Anderson, Valley City, North Dakota, Charles Anderson, Los Angeles, California, Peggy Northrup, Punta Gorda, Florida, Robert Anderson, Rochester, Minnesota, Laura Fox, Arlington, Virginia; and her good friends Dorothy Weber; and her family all of Austin, Minnesota.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents; brother Sidney of Babbit, Minnesota; sister Isabelle of Rochester, Minnesota; infant brother, Howard; and very special friend Art Fann.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 14, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Dale R. Christiansen officiating. Pianist will be Neal Erickson and soloist will be Kiven Lukes. Visitation will be on Friday morning at the mortuary for one hour before the service. Interment will be in Bear Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Grand Meadow, Minnesota.
