Nancy Louis Elliott (Nana) of Winchester, Virginia, died on Oct. 31, 2014, in her home.

She was born on March 18, 1944, in Davenport, Iowa. She is the daughter of Henry Jacob Grunewald and Ella Marie Fisher. She spent many years raising five children, working for the Catholic Church, many non-profits, and fighting for political causes, to help make the world a better place and fight injustice. In retirement she enjoyed spending time with family, going to the beach, hot air balloons and her dogs.

Ms. Elliott is survived by her roommate and dear friend Cindy Pullen; four boys: Wesley II, Jon, Jason, and David; her 13 grandchildren: Matthew, Zachery, Jennifer, Connor, Issac, Stephen, Morgan, Trinity, Alexandra, Charity, Joshua, and Gabriel; and her one great-grandchild Alexis. She is also survived by her older brother Philip Grunewald; and older sister Elizabeth Loescher.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother James Grunewald; and son Mark Elliott.

The funeral will be held at Hall Funeral Home in Purcellville, Virginia, on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014. We will have a visitation starting at 1 p.m., with the funeral starting at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
